About Gulf Air (GF) Flights

A principal flag carrier of Bahrain, Gulf Air is one of the first commercial airlines established in the Middle East. The airline is known for operating double daily flights to more than 10 regional cities, including some selected destinations in Europe and the Indian Subcontinent. Gulf Air is committed to provide all the essential facilities to its passengers. It has been the title sponsor for FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX. The airline also offers shuttle services to Khobar and Dammam.  

A little on the history of the airline - The airline was founded was in 1950 as Gulf Aviation. In 1981, the carrier became an IATA member and the following year became the first airline to land at Riyadh. The airline’s headquarter is located in Muharraq and operates from its hub at Bahrain International Airport. Currently, it has codeshare agreement with nine other carriers as well.

Connectivity and Fleet Size

The airline operates scheduled services to almost 41 destinations in 24 countries across three continents Asia, Africa and Europe. At present, Gulf Air fleet consists of 28 service aircraft as of November 2016.

Services and Amenities

Gulf Air offers a wide range of uniquely selected media for inflight flacon entertainment such as multiple radio broadcast shows, International cinema movies, kids’ movies, AVOD, latest TV shows, blockbuster movies, wide choice of music and much more.

Customers can request for special meals according to their nutritional necessities for which they need to place the orders at least 24 hours prior to their flight departure.

All aircraft are configured with Falcon Gold Business Class and Economy Class seating.

Sky Nanny is a fairly new unique aid provided to help families traveling with children. The service is available every day and offer help with boarding and disembarkation to give parents a much needed break especially during long haul flights.

Baggage Policy

Carry-on Baggage: For the First and Business Class passengers, the airlines allow to carry one carry-on bag or one garment carrier, plus one briefcase. The maximum total weight should not exceed 20lbs.

For Economy Class passengers, one bag is allowed and the maximum weight should not exceed 13lbs.

One bag with maximum weight of 7lbs is allowed for infants not occupying a seat and paying 10 per cent of the fare.

Checked Baggage Allowance

First Class passengers can carry 88lb/40kg.

Business Class passengers can carry 66lb/30kg.

Economy Class passengers can carry 44lb/20kg.

Frequent flyers of Gulf Air receive an automatic extra baggage allowance. Silver frequent flyer can carry 33lb/15kg and Gold frequent flyer can carry 44lb/20kg.

As per IATA regulations, no single piece of baggage should exceed weigh more than 70lb/30kg, if it exceeds, you will be asked to repack the bag.
